1 Information about the collection of personal data

(1) In the following, we inform you about the collection of personal data when using our website. Personal data is all data that can be related to you personally, e.g. name, address, e-mail addresses, user behavior.

(2) The legal basis for this declaration is the Ecclesiastical Data Protection Regulation of the Religious Community under Pontifical Law (KDR-OG).

2 Your rights

(1) You have the following rights with regard to the personal data concerning you:

(a) right to information, (b) right to rectification or erasure, (c) right to restriction of processing, (d) right to object to processing, (e) right to data portability.

(2) You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us.

 

3 Collection of personal data

Personal data is any information about identified or identifiable natural persons. An identifiable person is one who can be identified directly or indirectly. This may include, for example, your name, your e-mail address or your IP address. In accordance with the principle of data economy, we aim to collect, process or use no or as little personal data as possible. Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. All personal data will be collected, processed and used in accordance with the applicable regulations for the protection of personal data.

When you visit our website, we only collect the personal data that your browser automatically transmits to our web server and temporarily store it in a server log file. For operating and maintenance purposes and in accordance with the provisions of telemedia law, interaction is recorded that is necessary for the operation of the INternet site or processed for system security purposes, for example, to analyze attack patterns or unlawful usage behavior.

Your Internet browser automatically transmits the following data when you access our website:

This data is not merged with other data sources. The collected data is only used to ensure the functionality of our website.

(Legal basis for the data processing is § 6 para. 1 lit. g) KDR-OG. This data is deleted again promptly in accordance with legitimate retention periods, unless longer retention is required for legal or factual reasons, such as for evidentiary purposes. Temporary data for the provision of our website is deleted as soon as the session is ended. Server log files are deleted after 7 days at the latest.

The legal basis for the use of cookies is § 6 para. 1 lit. g) KDR-OG.

4. consent management platform / consent management service.

We use the consent management service Cookiebot, provided by Usercentrics A/S, Havnegade 39, 1058 Copenhagen, Denmark (Usercentrics). This enables us to obtain and manage the consent of users of the website for data processing. The processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation (Section 8 (5) KDG) to which we are subject (Section 6 (1) lit. d KDG). For this purpose, the following data is processed with the help of cookies:

  • Your IP address (the last three digits are set to '0').
  • Date and time of consent
  • Browser information
  • URL from which the consent was sent
  • An anonymous, random and encrypted key
  • Your consent status as proof of consent

The key and consent status are stored in the browser for 12 months using the "CookieConsent" cookie. This preserves your cookie preference for subsequent page requests. With the help of the key, their consent can be proven and traced.

The functionality of the website is not guaranteed without the processing. Usercentrics is a recipient of your personal data and acts as a processor for us. Your personal data will be deleted consecutively after 12 months or immediately after the termination of the contract between us and Usercentrics. Please refer to our general explanations about deleting and deactivating cookies above.

5 Contact Forms

You have the possibility to contact us via provided contact forms. In case of use, your entered data, your IP address shortened by 3 digits and date and time will be processed and stored for processing the request. Data will only be passed on to third parties with your consent. All mandatory data are marked in the respective contact form.

We use the open-source automation software Mautic to create and manage contact forms. The IP addresses are shortened so that an assignment to individual users is not possible. Mautic is operated exclusively on our server.

The data is stored exclusively for processing your request. There is no data transfer to third parties. Legal basis for the processing of your data provided in the contact form is § 6 para. 1 lit. b KDG.

The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until the purpose of processing no longer applies (e.g. completion of processing) or until you revoke your consent to storage. In the event of a revocation, case processing cannot be continued.

Alternatively, it is possible to contact the company via the postal addresses or e-mail addresses provided on the website. In this case, all data provided by the person will be stored. The documents or e-mails sent will be delivered to the relevant contact persons or to general mailboxes in the relevant departments. This storage also serves the above-mentioned purposes.

(1) With your consent, you can subscribe to our newsletter, with which we inform you about current offers and developments in our religious community.

(2) For the registration to our newsletter we use the so-called double-opt-in procedure. This means that after your registration, we will send you an e-mail to the e-mail address you provided, in which we ask you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. If you do not confirm your registration within 24 hours, your information will be blocked and automatically deleted after one month. In addition, we store your respective IP addresses used and times of registration and confirmation. The purpose of this procedure is to be able to prove your registration and, if necessary, to clarify any possible misuse of your personal data.

(3) The only mandatory information for sending the newsletter is your e-mail address. The provision of further, separately marked data is voluntary and will be used to address you personally. After your confirmation, we store your e-mail address for the purpose of sending the newsletter. The legal basis for this form of data processing is § 6 para. 1 lit. b) KDR-OG.

(4) You can revoke your consent to the sending of the newsletter at any time and unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can declare the revocation by clicking on the link provided in every newsletter e-mail or under the following link on the website.

 

6 Matomo

We use the open source software Matomo on our Internet pages for the analysis and statistical evaluation of the use of the Internet pages. Cookies are used for this purpose. The information thus obtained about the use of our Internet site is transmitted exclusively to our servers and summarized in pseudonymous Internet pages. We use the data to evaluate the use of the Internet pages. The data collected is not passed on to third parties. The IP addresses are shortened so that an assignment to individual users is not possible.

If you consent to the analysis, the following data, for example, will be collected when you call up individual pages of our website:

7 Google Maps

We use "Google Maps" on our website. Google Maps is a service of Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. The responsible entity in Europe is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland.

When you access a website with content from Google Maps, your IP address is collected and usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA. If you have a Google account and are logged in, data about the use of our website will be assigned to your personal profile. We would like to point out that fonts from Googlefonts are used for the uniform display of maps from Google Maps. The Googlefonts fonts are downloaded from a Google server when Google Maps is called up and stored in your browser cache. In the process, your IP address is collected again and usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA.

We use Google Maps to show you our locations in a clear and appealing way and to make it easier for you to find us. The legal bases for the processing of your above-mentioned data are § 6 para. 1 lit. b and § 6 para. 1 lit. g KDG.

8 Donations

(1) If your donation is received in our account, we collect the data you provide in this context, such as name, address, e-mail address, etc.. If you wish to receive a donation receipt, we process the data in order to issue and send a corresponding donation receipt.

(2) The collected data is required for the execution of the donation order. The user's e-mail address is required to confirm receipt of the donation order. The data will not be used for any other purposes. The legal basis for the processing of the data is § 6 para. 1 lit. c) or lit. g) KDR-OG. The necessary legitimate interest of the responsible party is for the responsible party to be allowed to issue donation confirmations for donations.

(3) The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. In the case of bank data, this is the case immediately after collection of the donation amount. The address data will be stored after any desired creation and sending of a donation receipt as all other data entered within the framework of tax retention obligations, but blocked for any other use.

9 Read-aloud function (Read-Speaker)

Our website uses the read aloud function of the company ReadSpeaker, Princenhof park 13, 3972 NG Driebergen-Rijsenburg, The Netherlands. When the read aloud function is activated, the selected text from the website is transmitted to the ReadSpeaker server using your IP address, where an audio file is generated and sent back to your IP address. Immediately after delivery of the audio file, the process and your IP address are deleted from the ReadSpeaker server. Your data will be processed exclusively in the EU.

When activating the read aloud function, technical cookies are stored on your used end device to retain the settings you have selected. The cookies are deleted after a maximum of 30 days.

The legal basis for offering a read aloud function is our legitimate interest (according to § 6 para.1 lit. g KDG) to provide you with an appealing user experience of our website. Data processing by ReadSpeaker only occurs when you use the read aloud function as a visitor to our website.

10 Objection or revocation to the processing of your data

(1) If you have given your consent to the processing of your data, you may revoke this consent at any time. Such revocation affects the permissibility of the processing of your personal data after you have expressed it to us.

Insofar as we base the processing of your personal data on the balance of interests, you may object to the processing. This is the case if the processing is not necessary, in particular, for the performance of a contract with you, which is shown by us in each case in the following description of the functions. When exercising such an objection, we ask you to explain the reasons why we should not process your personal data as we have done. In the event of your justified objection, we will review the situation and either discontinue or adjust the data processing or show you our compelling legitimate grounds on the basis of which we will continue the processing.
